Shreveport Police arrest purse snatching suspects

Shreveport Police detectives have charged two suspects in connection with a string of purse snatchings that occurred in Shreveport.

Shreveport Police patrol officers arrested 17 year old Megan M. Claspell of the 200 block of Shamshie Rd. in Benton and 20 year old Jonathan Roberts of the 9000 block of Kingston in Shreveport following the pursuit of a stolen vehicle. Officers stopped the duo in the 2600 block of Malcolm and took them into custody without incident.

Detective Jack Miller has charged Claspell and Roberts with four counts of purse snatching in connection with two purse snatchings reported in the 6200 block of Westport, one purse snatching reported in the 7100 block of Youree and yet another reported in the 2600 block of Waggoner. Claspell was also charged with illegal possession of stolen things and one count of flight from officers in a vehicle.
