Shreveport Police looking for robbery suspect

Shreveport Police detectives are working to identify and apprehend a man who robbed a woman yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 3:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon, the female victim was walking out of the Dollar General Store in the 8100 block of Line Ave. when she was attacked by a male suspect who attempted to snatch her purse. The suspect drug the victim across the parking lot and then fled the scene with her purse. A Shreveport Police patrol officer witnessed the attack and gave chase to the suspect. The suspect was able to elude the officer, but the officer did recover the victim’s purse.

The victim was injured in the attack and the Shreveport Fire Department transported her to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing between 180 and 200 lbs., and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black, baggy jean shorts.
