Police Department still investigating bogus officer

The Shreveport Police Department is still investigating reports relative to a local man arrested late last month for simple escape and property damage after he allegedly posed as a law enforcement officer.

Back on April 30, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers arrested 21 year old Garrett Barton of the 7800 block of Youree Dr. in Shreveport for simple escape and property damage after he allegedly had been passing himself off as a law enforcement officer. Now detectives need your help in locating any additional victims that may have encountered Barton and not realized he was impersonating a police officer. Shreveport Police Detective Lowell Bowen is asking anyone who may have been stopped by a white male driving a black or gray unmarked Ford Crown Victoria to call in and speak with investigators regarding their experience. The suspect may have been dressed in some type of tactical gear.
