Shreveport Police investigating shooting

Shreveport Police detectives are currently investigating a shooting that occurred in a west Shreveport neighborhood.

Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a call for service in the 8900 block of Brandon this morning at approximately 8: 54 a.m. relative to a welfare concern. Upon arrival officers contacted a family member of the victims who had called police because their relative was not at work and would not answer the door or the phone. Officers subsequently made entry into the residence and discovered an adult male, an adult female, and a juvenile male, all deceased. Each of the victims had suffered a single gunshot wound.

Detectives are still working this afternoon to piece together exactly what led to this tragic shooting, but based on information and evidence gathered at the scene, investigators now believe that 36 year old Billy Hardy, of the 8900 block of Brandon, shot and killed his wife, 33 year old Jolyne Hardy and their 3 year old son, both of the 8900 block of Brandon, and then shot himself. This investigation is ongoing.
