Shirley Francis Fatality

At approximately 7:24 AM this morning, Shreveport Police and Fire Department responded to a major two vehicle accident in the 7100 block of Shirley Francis Road.

Upon their arrival to the scene, it was determined that the injuries to driver #1 (P-1) were life-threatening and Life Air was called to transport the victim to LSUHSC. Based on witness statements and the initial investigation, it was determined the injured driver's vehicle(P-1) was traveling Westbound on Shirley Francis from Woolworth Rd. when it veered into on-coming traffic and collided with another vehicle (P-2), 2009 Tractor/trailer rig. The driver of P-2 stated he had just pulled out into the roadway and straightened his vehicle out in the Eastbound lane of Shirley Francis when he noticed the opposing vehicle crossing into his lane at which time he brought his vehicle to a complete stop prior to the collision.

The driver of P-1 died at LSUHSC due to the injuries sustained in the accident.

Victim's name is not being released pending complete notification of the family. Investigation continues.
