Wanted Suspect in Homicide

Shreveport Police investigators are requesting assistance in locating a suspect who shot and killed another man shortly before 11 PM last night.

On Tuesday, April 21st, Shreveport Police responded to the 5900 block of Attaway Street on a shooting call and found the victim Raymond Wright, B/M, 4/18/84 suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Interviews from area witnesses stated that just before 11 PM, Raymond Wright was walking down the street in front of his residence at 5938 Attaway when the suspect Andre Palmer, b/m, 8/5/71, pulled up in a dark colored Jeep Cherokee, exited the vehicle and fired at Wright multiple times with a high caliber handgun striking Raymond Wright numerous times in the upper torso area causing his death. Area witnesses positively identified Andre Palmer as the only person in the Jeep as it left the scene shortly after the fatal shots were fired.

Further investigation revealed that in October of 2007, the victim Raymond Wright shot the suspect Andre Palmer multiple times in the upper torso in the 5900 block of Attaway Street and was arrested at the scene for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. However, Wright was released because the victim Andre Palmer refused to cooperate with investigators. There has been friction ever since between the two.

Andre Palmer is wanted on a $350,000.00 arrest Warrant # 2009-00-1260 for 2nd Degree Murder.
