Shreveport Police comment on rumors regarding “gang activities”

The Shreveport Police Department has been receiving calls from concerned citizens relative to text messages and e-mails being circulated throughout the community regarding “gang activities” at local businesses.

The Shreveport Police Department has received no credible information concerning any concerted, organized criminal activity and has released no warnings or press releases regarding the possibility of such activity. It appears at this time that these rumors are possibly some type of “urban legend”.

With that being said, public safety is always first and foremost in our minds at the Shreveport Police Department. Patrol officers will be maintaining a presence on our streets and in our neighborhoods as always and will aggressively investigate any criminal activity they observe. We urge all citizens to continue with their daily routines and to contact their police department at 318-673-BLUE or 911 if assistance is needed.
