Shreveport Police capture bandit hiding in garbage can

Shreveport police officers responding to a reported robbery chased a male suspect and ultimately took him into custody as he hid in a trash can.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. patrol officers responded to Capital One Bank located at 6161 Greenwood Rd. relative to a robbery. The victim advised officers that he was waiting for the bank to open and a male suspect snatched a money bag from him and fled the scene. Officers subsequently located and chased a suspect in a wooded area nearby and found him hiding in a garbage can in the 6300 block of Crosswinds Dr.

Once removed from the garbage can, 30 year old Christopher Ford of the 6400 block of Oak Valley in Shreveport was arrested and has been charged with one count of simple robbery and two counts of resisting an officer.
