Shreveport Police to host personal safety seminar for women

The Shreveport Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing Bureau is hosting a Personal Safety Seminar for women this Tuesday.

Please join your police department for an informative and interactive free seminar on personal safety. This comprehensive training will include safety and self defense information designed to empower women in a fun and non-threatening environment. Topics will include crime statistics and safety awareness, verbal and physical self defense, protecting yourself from rape, and general strategies for maintaining personal safety.

The class, which will start at 6:00 p.m. and last approximately 2 hours, is being held at the Louisiana Technical College Building “E” Auditorium at 2010 N. Market St. in Shreveport. This class is for women only and there is no minimum age. There is no fee and registration is not required. Anyone needing additional information can call Cpl. Mary Coburn at 318-402-3850. .
