Shreveport Police arrest suspect for manslaughter

Shreveport Police detectives have arrested a Benton man for manslaughter in connection with the death of a man in Shreveport.

Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a call for service at the Police Complex on March 1, 2009 relative to severe injuries sustained by victim Robert Hall III. Detectives were notified at that time of the situation and immediately began their investigation. Mr. Hall was pronounced deceased at Willis Knighton Pierremont on March 3, 2009.

Detectives conducted an in-depth investigation and learned that the victim actually received his injuries as the result of an act of aggression that occurred back on February 24, 2009 in the 7500 block of Youree Dr.

Detectives subsequently arrested 39 year old Carlton Church of the 600 block of 5th St. in Benton, LA and booked him into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of manslaughter.
