Shreveport Police to hold first ever Patrol Rifle Training class for officers

The Shreveport Police Department's Regional Training Academy will hold a Patrol Rifle Training class for police officers tomorrow.

The day long class, the first of its kind offered to Shreveport Police patrol officers, will emphasize all aspects of the patrol rifle for law enforcement officers, from nomenclature to firing positions to basic marksmanship.

The morning portion of the class will be held at our Regional Training Academy, located at 6440 Greenwood Rd., and will begin at 8:00 a.m. The afternoon session will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m. and will be held at the department's outdoor firing range, located on Reserve Rd. just off of Airport Dr.

The media is welcomed to cover this class and witness first hand this new training opportunity as part of the Shreveport Police Department's continuing commitment to equip and train our officers to better serve the citizens of Shreveport.
