Pedestrian struck by vehicle in lunch hour crash Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the 2000 block of North Market at approximately 12:20 this afternoon in reference to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle there. Investigating officers have determined that the pedestrian, identified as 37 year old Unsheka Hunt, ran across the roadway and was susequently struck by a 1965 Mercury being operated by 58 year old Billy Ray Washington. Based on preliminary witness statements, investigators believe that Hunt ran into the path of Washington's vehicle and he was unable to avoid the crash. Hunt was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what has been described as moderate injuries.
