Shreveport’s 3^rd Homicide results in arrest

On Thursday, January 22^nd at approximately 4:00 PM at the intersection of Stonewall and Exposition, two men were involved in a verbal altercation which turned deadly.

Investigation by the Shreveport Violent Crimes Unit revealed the victim Brandon Smith, b/m, was in his vehicle when another vehicle driven by Frank Joshua, b/m failed to stop at a controlled intersection in the area of Exposition and Stonewall, almost colliding with Smith’s vehicle. Shortly after the mishap, Smith and Joshua became engaged in a verbal altercation which escalated to the point where Joshua pulled a gun and shot Smith, fatally injuring him. Joshua fled the scene after the shooting.

Shreveport Violent Crimes Investigators along with Patrol officers canvassed the neighborhood and were able to determine the make and model of the vehicle as well as a physical description of the driver/suspect, Joshua. Further investigation lead to the registered owner of the vehicle who was interviewed and information from other sources lead police to where the suspect was staying. Investigators arrested Joshua without incident and charged him with one count of 2^nd Degree Murder.
