Police respond to reported rape

At approximately 4:00 this morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded out to the 3000 block of Gaywood in reference to a reported rape.

Upon further investigation, officers learned that the elderly victim heard a noise coming from her carport early this morning. As she went to investigate, she was confronted by a male suspect who had broken into her home. The suspect, who was armed, forced himself on the victim and sexually assaulted her.

Officers and detectives are working diligently at this time in a concerted effort to identify and apprehend this offender. The suspect has been described as a black male, approximately 6’ tall, 200 lbs.
