Shreveport Police add one firearms arrest to New Year’s Eve tally The Shreveport Police Department has added one arrest for a firearms violation that was not included with the other arrests reported for New Year’s Eve. On December 31st, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded out to the 5200 block of Roberts in reference to shots fired call. Upon further investigation, officers arrested 42 year old Pamela Lacure, of the 4200 block of Henry St. in Shreveport, for illegal use of a weapon and disturbing the peace by fighting. Officers also seized at least one weapon in connection with this incident. Officers discovered that apparently Lacure had become involved in some type of dispute and subsequently discharged a firearm. Lacure was booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Chief Henry Whitehorn, commenting on firearms related arrests said, “These arrests should serve as a reminder to those who would put the lives of others at risk by illegally discharging weapons that the Shreveport Police Department takes these offenses very seriously and is going to aggressively pursue and apprehend violators.” The Shreveport Police Department encourages anyone who has knowledge of an illegally possessed firearm to call in and help us keep our city safe. Tipsters will remain anonymous as part of Chief Whitehorn’s “Don’t Shoot…I want to grow up!!!” initiative. Please call CrimeStoppers at 318-673-7373 with any information. Anyone with any information regarding the identity of this suspect are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.crimestoppersshreveportcaddo.com -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.ci.shreveport.la.us/dept/police/spdnews |
