More officers to patrol city streets during New Year’s Eve

As part of a collaborative effort to supplement police patrols this New Year’s Eve, members of the Caddo/Shreveport Narcotics Task Force will be hitting the streets to proactively deal with any criminal issues that that might arise.

At least 13 of the specially trained Task Force officers will be patrolling our streets New Year’s Eve, aggressively seeking out criminals engaged in activities that would compromise public safety, such as firing guns. These officers will be utilized in addition to the 18 Shreveport Police Officers and 6 Louisiana State Troopers that will be out targeting impaired drivers.

Your local law enforcement officers will be working hard this New Year’s Eve to ensure that everyone stays safe, but we need your help. Please obey all laws regarding firearms, fireworks, and alcoholic beverages.
