Turkeys are in high demand with Thanksgiving just around the corner, and that's where Shreveport Police Department comes into action with its sixth annual Turkey Tuesday event! At 2 p.m. tomorrow (Nov. 17), Cpl. Tracy Mendel’s will be in the patrol parking lot where she will load her patrol car with nearly 100 turkeys and drive them to the Northwest Louisiana Food bank. The money to purchase the 15 to 20 cases of turkeys was collected by Cpl. Mendel's from officers on patrol. The Food Bank helps many agencies distribute food to hungry residents.
