On October 23rd at approximately 7:14 PM, Shreveport Police Cpl. Chad Dailey answered a dispatched call of a man with a gun at the intersection of Greenwood and Broadway. Cpl. Dailey located the suspect Roy Kincade II, b/m on foot and as he approached Kincade, ordered him to stop and take his hands out of his pockets. Kincade ignored Dailey's verbal commands, pulled a black semi automatic handgun (see attached photo) from his waist area and pointed it towards Cpl. Dailey. Fearing for his life, Cpl. Dailey fired at the suspect numerous times, hitting him twice, causing Kincade to drop the weapon. Kincade was transported to LSUHSC for treatment of his non life threatening gunshot injuries and will be charged with aggravated assault; Cpl. Dailey was not injured. Also during the Investigation, it was discovered Kincade was stopped and field interviewed by SPD officers around 5:00 PM earlier that evening in the 4000 block of Greenwood road after they responded to a "man with a gun" call. They found Kincade in possession of a very realistic looking pellet gun and took him home to his sister who took custody of the weapon and hid it in their home. Kincade's sister went to sleep and when she awoke, both Kincade and the weapon were gone. Initial investigation documented Kincade was intoxicated during this incident although his actual blood alcohol level had not been determined. Cpl. Dailey is on paid administrative leave. Information can be left with Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimestoppersshreveportcaddo.com. -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.ci.shreveport.la.us/dept/police/spdnews |
