Overnight shooting and arrest

One man is recovering from a gunshot wound this morning while another man is behind bars.

Shreveport Police Patrol Units were flagged down by a woman in the 900 block of Madison last night shortly before 1:00 AM. When officers entered the residence, they found Frank James, Black Male DOB 8-23-1963, shot one time in the leg.

James told officers an individual, who police were able to identify as Jonathan Wells Black Male DOB 10/23/1969 from the 700 block of Tecumseh Trail, came into the house and tried to rob him and his girlfriend. When all three people started fighting Wells fired one shot hitting James in the leg.

James was taken to LSU-HSC with a non-life threatening injury.

Wells was booked into the city jail on one count of Aggravated Assault, One count of Simply Battery, One count of Attempted Armed Robbery and several outstanding warrants.
