Largest Police Academy starts today

The largest police academy class ever started this morning at the Shreveport regional police academy.

Fifty people will participate in the four-month police training. When completed, they will work for a number of law enforcement agencies, not just SPD.

The class is so large; they had to move instruction to the academy's auditorium. Normally they would use a classroom.

The media is invited to go to the academy today and get video and interviews with the instructors and the recruits.
