Warrants round up to begin after the 4th of July

PLEASE PUBLICIZE AN ADDITIONAL PHONE NUMBER TO CALL: 673-6800 (City Marshal's office). The numbers in the original news release below is to the SPD Warrants Office. Citizens should also call the Marshal's Office at 673-6800 to see if they bench warrants or other warrants issued by the Marshal's Office. The x6800 number is the line they should call about moving violations.

WARRANTS ROUNDUP TO BEGIN AFTER THE July 4 HOLIDAY

Shreveport Police Department will join forces with the Shreveport City Marshal's Office to clear up thousands of outstanding warrants issued to citizens.

Anyone with outstanding warrants should clear them up by July 3 if they want to maintain their independence after the July 4 holiday.

Beginning Monday, July 7, those with outstanding warrants are at risk of having officers show up at their homes and jobs and be arrested.

They also will be subjected to having their name printed in the Inquisitor, which has agreed to run hundreds of names of wanted individuals in its newspaper each week.

To find out if they have outstanding warrants, citizens can call the SPD Warrants Office at 673-7086 or 673-7091.

Information can be left with Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimestoppersshreveportcaddo.com.
