Shreveport Police Department will close three recent cases after a robbery suspect in East Texas killed himself.
David Cody Stewart, unknown age, Nacogdoches is believed to have been the same man who robbed two Circle K stores in June. (See details about the robberies below).
The way the suspect committed the robberies in both Shreveport and East Texas were very similar, along with the descriptions of his clothing and physical features.
This same individual also is believed to be connected to an incident that took place at the Regency Hotel on Monkhouse Drive on June 13. In that incident, the suspect entered the hotel with his face covered with a cloth and placed a gun on the counter. At that time, the clerk ran away and the suspect fled the scene. It is believed the suspect would have robbed the hotel had the clerk not escaped.
Shreveport Police detectives are trying to identify a man who is believed to have robbed two Circle K stores over the weekend.
The white male can be seen talking on a cell phone as he walks into the store in the 8500 block of Youree Drive. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on June 13.
The suspect pretended to be purchasing an item, and instead, showed the clerk a gun in his waistband. He demanded money from the register, got it and then fled the store.
This suspect is also believed to have committed a similar offense at the Circle K store in the 9000 block of Youree Drive on June 15.
In the early morning hours, the suspect entered the store while on a cell phone. He picked up merchandise and took it to the counter. He then showed the clerk a gun and demanded money. He then walked out and is believed to have escaped on foot.
The suspect is described as a fair-skinned white male, in his 20's, about 5'9" tall, medium build with a goatee. He was wearing a ball cap, blue jeans and a t-shirt.
