Man arrested for exposing woman unborn child to HIV
Shreveport Police arrested a 33-year-old Shreveport man for intentionally exposing a woman and her unborn child to HIV.
Terre English is charged with two counts of intentional exposure to the AIDS virus. He reportedly had a relationship with the woman, who is pregnant, for the past three months.
When she found out his condition earlier this week, she contacted police. Because she was pregnant, English was charged with two counts.
Louisiana law states that no person shall intentionally expose another to any acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) virus through sexual contact without the knowing and lawful consent of the victim.
If convicted, English could be fined a maximum $5,000 and/or sentenced to a maximum 10 years in prison for each count.
Information can be left with Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimestoppersshreveportcaddo.com.
