Fatal accident on Terry Bradshaw

Shreveport Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred about 1:20 p.m. today at Terry Bradshaw at the Jewella overpass.

A white car driven by a 56-year-old Shreveport woman was traveling very slowly eastbound between the shoulder and the right lane of travel. An 18-wheeler hauling cars tried to avoid the car, but a portion of the truck's pipe impaled the car, causing fatal injuries to the woman.

The victim, whose name is not being released at this time pending family notification, was taken to LSU Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. It is currently unknown why she was traveling at such a slow rate of speed.

The 18-wheeler was driven by Jonathan Strahan, age unknown, of Denham Springs, Louisiana.

The accident is under investigation. At this time, it appears that no criminal charges will be filed.
