Purse snatcher arrested

Shreveport Police have arrested a man and charged him with three counts of purse snatching for incidents that occurred in late April and early May.

Jerry Wayne Peters, 21, of Shreveport was arrested late Friday after turning himself in. He is charged with a May 1 purse snatching outside of Belk's Department store in the 1700 block of E. 70th Street and two similar crimes on April 21 and April 29 at the Walgreen's in the 300 block of Southfield.

An investigation has revealed that two other men are believed to have been involved in the crimes. They are currently being identified and located at this time. When that information is available, it will be released.
