Woman’s body found in house

Shreveport Police discovered the remains of a woman inside a vacant house around noon today on Sprague Street.

Patrol officers were investigating a call about narcotics activity near Christian and Sprague streets. While searching vacant houses, officers discovered the body of a woman inside one of the rooms.

The woman, whose body was decomposed, had no identification. It is unknown what her race or age she was. Based on the location of the body, it appears she was the victim of a homicide.

The Caddo Parish Coronor's Office took custody of the woman's body for an autopsy.
