Two arrested for church burglary
Shreveport detectives have arrested two people in connection with last week's burglary of Southern Hills Church of Christ.
Victor Johnson, 20, and Crystal James, 24, both of Shreveport were arrested and some of the stolen items were seized.
Johnson reportedly was caught trying to sell two laptop computers that were stolen from the church. The burglary was discovered at 8 a.m. last Tuesday, April 1. Johnson lives a few blocks from the church. When police went to Johnson's home in the 9000 block of Bayonne, James answered the door and told officers he was not inside.
However, Johnson was found hiding under the bed with a bag of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with illegal possession of stolen things, possession of Schedule I and being a fugitive for past warrants issued for domestic abuse and criminal mischief.
James was arrested and charged with resisting an officer.
