Patrol makes drug bust

Shreveport patrol officers responded to a drug complaint in the 300 block of Boisseau got more than just drugs this morning.

Besides 25 grams of crack cocaine and nearly 9 1/2 grams of marijuana, they found a shoe box stuffed with $13,203 in cash and a sawed off, loaded shotgun.

The incident began this morning when the officers conducted a "knock and talk" with the home owner. Jeffrey Finley, 41, allowed officers inside.

Once inside they found the marijuana in plain view on a table. They then arrested the officer and located the crack cocaine, money and gun.

He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II, possession of Schedule I and possession of a weapon with a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

The suspect told officers he bought the crack cocaine with his income tax refund.
