Shreveport Police responded to a major accident in the 3000 block of Montana this morning after a car left the roadway. Amber Nicole Berridge, White Female DOB 9-19-1983, was driving her Accura Integra north on Montana when the car left the road and cut a SWEPCO power line in half leaving in lying across the road. When Police arrived on the scene, they found the passenger Janetta Lloyd, Black Female DOB 12-14-1973, in the front seat with cuts to her head and bruises to her chest. Berridge was not at the scene when officers arrived. Lloyd originally told officers a black male was driving the vehicle when it left the road. Police found Berridge a few moments later at a house down the street. Berridge told officers she left the scene to find a phone and call for help. Berridge was transported to LSU-HSC after she complained of chest pains. Berridge has been charged with: -Driving with a Suspended License -No Insurance She will be taken to the Police Station and tested after officers detected an odor of alcohol on her breath. Lloyd will be charged with: -Resisting an Officer after she lied to officers about who was driving. It is unknown how many people were affected by the power outage or how long before SWEPCO is able to restore power.
