Barricaded subject and armed robbery
Police responded to the 5300 block of Bienville for a call about a man who threatened to harm himself.
Police were told by the mother that 20 year old had threatened to hurt himself while he was on the phone with her. The man's girlfriend was able to get out of the house unharmed.
The mother stayed on the phone with her son, while police surrounded the house. After a short time the mother was able to talk her son out of the house where police took him into custody unharmed.
The man was taken to LSU-HSC to be evaluated.
Minute’s later police were called to an armed robbery in the 4100 block of Greenwood Road.
Shortly after 8:00 PM a black male approximately 6 feet tall wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a blue bandana over his face approached the cashier outside the store and forced him back into the store.
Once inside the robber took an undisclosed amount of money and then fled northbound on Golf Links BLVD on foot.
