Hollywood stabbing

Shreveport Police Department arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing a 49-year-old Shreveport man.

Donald Ray Jackson was taken to LSU Hospital with a stab wound to the chest. His injury is life-threatening.

The incident occurred about 2:15 p.m. in the 4100 block of Hollywood Avenue. Apparently the woman, 41-year-old Vidalia Gant of Shreveport, became upset with Jackson while the two were sitting around the Davis Garage, drinking alcohol and talking.

Following the stabbing, Gant left the scene and was located at a residence in the 4100 block of Miles. She appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and was transported to LSU Hospital after complaining of stomach pain.

Gant is currently charged with aggravated battery.

The investigation continues.
