Man attacked by dog

One man is in the hospital this morning after being attacked by a dog.

Percy Netter, Black Male DOB 8-8-1952, was walking near the corner of Linwood and W. 74th when a brown and white dog attacked him shortly after 4:00 AM this morning. Netter was taken to LSUHSC with bite wounds to both arms, upper chest, head as well as both legs below the knee.

A witness who was driving by told police he initially thought two men were fighting in the street. When the witness realized a man was being attacked by a dog he stopped his car and hit the dog several times chasing it off.

Animal control arrived on the scene and took the dog into custody.
