Police make arrest in Homicide

Shreveport police have arrested a man on a charge of second-degree murder for a shooting in the 600 block of West 74th Street last week.

Corey "Cornbread" Johnson, 18, of Shreveport was arrested by detectives at the Shreveport Police Department. He is accused of fatally shooting Christopher Davenport in the 600 block of West 74th Street on Feb. 21.

Davenport was walking back and forth on the street when Johnson allegedly fired shots from him while sitting in a parked vehicle. He then drove off in the vehicle.

The shooting is believed to have occurred over a drug debt.
