Overnight arrest

Two men are in jail this morning on numerous charges after they got into a scuffle with an off-duty officer.

The two men were confronted by the off-duty officer after they were disturbing the peace at the Willows apartment complex located in the 1300 block of Coates Bluff. The officer tried to ask the men to calm down and stop yelling in the apartment complex shortly after Midnight.

When one of the men refused to quiet down the officer attempted to put him under arrest for Disturbing the Peace and Public Intoxication. The individual pulled away from the officer and shoved her.

Other Patrol officers responded when the men tried to flee the scene in their car. Waco Allen Day, White Male DOB 2-22-1982, was arrested on charges of:

Resisting arrest

Simply Battery on a Police Officer

Public Intoxication

Disturbing the Peace

The second man who attempted to drive them away from the scene, James Attaway, White Male DOB 1-17-1982 was arrested on charges of Simple Battery and DWI. His car was impounded because there was no proof of insurance.
