FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lucien Trammell’s father, brother arrested
Shreveport Police Department has arrested two family members of the man arrested for attempting to kill a Shreveport police officer.
Lucius (also spelled Lucious) Smith, 50, of Shreveport was arrested this afternoon for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. A shotgun was found in his home while police were investigating the shooting of Officer John Madjerick.
Madjerick was shot by a man who has been identified as Lucien Trammell, 25, of Shreveport. Trammell was arrested in Houston the night for attempted first-degree murder after he shot Madjerick in the face.
Lucien's brother, 31-year-old Henry Trammell of Shreveport, was arrested late Wednesday on a charge of supplying a firearm to a convicted felon and accessory after the fact. It is believed that Henry provided Lucien the gun that was used to shoot Madjerick, and that he harbored and aided Lucien in his escape to Houston.
Detectives are looking at other individuals who are believed to have also aided and abetted Lucien Trammell after the shooting. It is not yet known whether anymore arrests will be made.
