Officer shot at on I-20

A Shreveport Police corporal was shot at on his way home from work this afternoon.

The corporal, whose name is not yet being released, had just left the police department and was headed home in his private vehicle when the incident occurred. The time was 2:55 p.m. and the corporal was just getting onto I-20 from Fairfield Avenue.

He was headed east on Interstate 20 when he heard a gunshot and his driver's side window shattered. He looked over in time to see a man pointing a pistol at him. The man, described as a black male, was driving an older-model, primer gray Chevy Caprice. He drove off from the scene.

The officer was not injured, although he was shaken up a bit.

Officers in Bossier City were alerted about the incident and stopped a car matching the vehicle description. However, the vehicle was ruled out as the vehicle in question and the person was released.
