Shreveport Police learned about 8:30 p.m. tonight that the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force - acting on information supplied by investigators of SPD's Violent Crimes Unit - captured the man wanted for attempting to kill a Shreveport Police officer. Lucien Trammell Jr. was taken into custody without incident in the Houston area and is currently in the Harris County Jail. It is unknown when he will be transported back to Shreveport to face the attempted first-degree murder charges. Trammell is accused of shooting Officer John Madjerick in the face Tuesday, Jan. 29, while he was patroling the 7100 block of Sunset on a burglary detail. Although Trammell is in custody at this time, the investigation into the shooting of the officer is not complete and is continuing. If convicted, Trammell faces up to 50 years in prison.
