Father arrested for stabbing daughter

Shreveport Police have arrested a father for allegedly stabbing his daughter in the chest with a knife.

The father was arrested at Willis Knighten North Hospital where the child was taken. The child is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries at this time.

The man, whose name can not be released at this time due to the fact it will identify his juvenile daughter, has been booked into the city jail on one count of Aggravated battery.

The incident happened around 6:30 PM this evening in the 4000 block of Thompson Street.

Detectives are still investigating the incident at this time.
