Stand off near Bryd High School

Byrd High School was on Lock-down this morning for over two hours while police were looking for an alleged burglary suspect.

Shortly before 9:00 AM today a security guard for Byrd High School heard someone attempting to break into a house at the corner of Creswell and Kings Highway. As soon as the alleged Burglar realized he had been spotted he started walking west bound on Kings Highway.

Byrd Security Guards followed the suspect who entered through the backdoor of a duplex in the 700 block of Kings highway. Police surrounded the house and waited for a Search Warrant to enter the house.

Once K-9 Officers entered the house they discovered no one was home. Burglary detectives have taken over the investigations and are looking for a black male approximately 5'7" tall with a slender build.
