Texas man arrested

Shreveport Police arrested an Austin, Texas, man on a charge of shoplifting and illegal possession of stolen things after he reportedly used a stolen car from Dallas to get away with merchandise allegedly shoplifted from two Shreveport stores this morning.

Wade Galloway, 37, was arrested outside the Best Value Inn in the 4900 block of Monkhouse Drive this morning after police officers located the stolen green Ford Mustang in the parking lot of the hotel.

Witnesses in both shoplifting cases -- Wal-Mart on Bert Kouns and O'Reily's Auto Parts on Pines Road -- gave the same license plate number. Officers located the car at the hotel and were working to get a search warrant when Galloway and another person emerged from the hotel.

Both were taken into custody. The second person was found not to have been involved in the crimes and let go. Meanwhile, Galloway faces the Shreveport charges, and could faces charges in Dallas. The car Galloway was using had been during an aggravated robbery there.
