Major wreck at 70^th and Canal

Shreveport Police have charged the man involved in a wreck this weekend which sent two children to the hospital in serious condition.

John Sidney Taylor, a black male DOB 12-2-32, has been charged with his 10th DWI, 2 counts of 1st degree Vehicular Injury, one count of Vehicular Injury and one count of Improper Lane Change.

On Saturday shortly before 5:30 in the afternoon, Sidney was traveling west bound on 70th when he crossed the double yellow line and collided head on with a car driven by Alicia Bryant.

Two children in the car driven by Bryant, 6 year old Tramone Bryant and 5 year old Javione Allen, were transported to LSUHSC with severe head injuries. Bryant and another child were transported with minor injuries.

Taylor was taken to the DWI unit for routine testing, which detected a Blood Alcohol Limit of nearly 3 times the legal limit.

None of the three children in the car were in a car seat. The investigation is still open at this time.
