Fugitive Caught

One man was arrested this morning after a traffic stop at a fast food restaurant.

Shontravious "Scooter" Rogers was taken into custody after patrol officers spotted the car he was riding in on North Market.

On October 13th of last year Patrol officers made a traffic stop on Hillary Huckabee and David Raines. The driver Shontravious "Scooter" Rogers fled from the scene on foot. The vehicle was impounded due to being a traffic hazard. Among the inventory in the car was a Tech 9 semi-automatic weapon on the front seat.

Rogers was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the stop and had a previous conviction of Second Degree Battery and was on probation at the time.

When the car pulled into the drive thru of the McDonald's tonight at the corner of North Market and North Hearne patrol officers blocked the car from leaving and Rogers attempted to flee from officers again on foot.

Rogers attempted to flee on foot once again, but was stopped by Officers who used their Tasers on him. Rogers continued to resist and was Tazed two additional times.

Rogers was checked out by the Fire Department at the scene and later transported to LSU-HSC as a precaution.

Rogers faces one count of Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.
