Man drives SUV into hotel

Shreveport Police Officers were dispatched to the Super 8 Motel at 5204 Monkhouse shortly after 1:30 this afternoon.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they saw a Chevrolet Suburban had crashed into the entrance to the Motel, injuring the two victims.

Stacey Banks of Shreveport was outside the business when the vehicle passed by him and hit his hand. Charles Johnson of Shreveport is an employee of the Super 8 and was inside when the vehicle crashed into the front door.

Johnny Harris stated his brakes went out and that is why his vehicle crashed into the building. Mr. Harris has been charged with DWI 1st, two counts of Negligent Injury and two City bench warrants one for domestic abuse battery and one for aggravated assault.

Mr. Harris was booked into the City Jail. Further charges may be pending upon completion of the investigation.
