Bibb street stabbing victim dies
Shreveport Police detectives have upgraded charges against a Shreveport woman after the victim she allegedly stabbed died of her wounds.
Sharon Mudd, 50, is now charged with second-degree murder for the stabbing death of Claire Elizabeth Brouillette, 32, of Marksville, Louisiana.
The stabbing occurred early Saturday morning about 6:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of Bibb Street at the Grace Recovery House. When police arrived, they found the victim collapsed in the street with stab wounds to her upper chest. The suspect was standing nearby.
Mudd was taken to the Shreveport City Jail where she was booked on attempted second-degree murder. However, since Brouillette died on Monday, the charge against Mudd has been upgraded to second-degree murder. No specific motive for the stabbing has been determined, although the investigation continues.
