Police investigate deceased baby

Shreveport Police detectives are investigating the death of a 13-month-old boy.

Police were called to LSU Hospital after the baby was brought into the emergency room unconscious and not breathing just after 11 a.m. today. The baby was pronounced dead at 12:12 p.m.

According to reports, the mother had taken the child to a health clinic this morning because of a high temperature and vomiting. The child's condition worsened, so the child was transported to LSU Hospital.

The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office will send the baby for an autopsy to determine cause of death. At this time, it is not known whether foul play is involved.
