Recruit bus out again this friday

Shreveport Police Department's Recruiting Unit will be at Louisiana Technical College tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for anyone wanting information or to apply to work as a police officer, jailer or communications officer.

The large SPD Mobile Command Center bus will be parked in the lot at 2010 North Market St.

For the past three Fridays, the Recruiting Unit has been at various locations in Shreveport. So far, about 120 people have visited the Mobile Command Bus to inquire and apply. The unit's goal is to continue to visit locations in the Shreveport area until the civil service test deadline is set, which could be next month for the test that would be given in April or May.

It is hoped that at least 200 people apply to take the civil service test for police officer. That would give the city a great pool of applicants for the upcoming academy classes.
