Bank robbers arrested

Shreveport police arrested two men for armed robbery of Capital One on Greenwood Road this afternoon.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., 21-year-old Christopher Douglas and 19-year-old Corderral Williams -- both of Shrevpeort -- allegedly entered the bank and pulled a handgun. They demanded money and got an undislosed amount. They then fled the bank and ran towards Willis-Knighton hospital. They were captured while trying to get to their getaway car, which was parked about two blocks away in a Willis-Knighton parking lot.

Willis-Knighton security personnel apprehended one of the suspects in the parking lot, while SPD officers apprehended the other suspect a short distance away on James Street. The money and the gun were also recovered.

Both Douglas and Williams were transported to the police station for questioning. They have both been booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
