Torch run

Please make plans to cover the law enforcement torch run for Special Olympics. A ceremony will be held at the Caddo Courthouse at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 11.

Thursday May 11- The Media Run for the Northwest Area will take place. There will be Two Legs of this run. Leg One starting at Caddo Correctional Center into Downtown Shreveport(3.2 miles). Leg Two starting at Bossier Civic Center into Downtown Shreveport(3.3miles).

Runners will gather at designated locations at 0700 hours to begin the runs at 0730 hours. The runners will

run into Downtown Shreveport, meeting at the Texas Street bridge, they will continue into downtown running the Torch to the Caddo Courthouse (Milam St. side). A brief ceremony will be held at 0900 hours with local dignataries.

After the ceremony the Torch Run will proceed south on Youree Drive ending at Chick-fil-A, 7010 Youree Drive. The participants will eat and then disperse until Tuesday, May 16th.
