Spring Break has definitely begun in Shreveport, as hundreds of people were discovered cruising the Greenwood and Jewella intersection, as well as other streets and local parks over the weekend. In all, 27 adults and 10 people were taken into custody at Airport Park between 1 and 2 a.m. today, as a result of the traffic jams, loud music and other problems at the park, which was officially closed. In addition, one gun was seized and two vehicles were impounded. Most of those people arrested were charged with being in the park after hours. Others were charged with traffic violations and resisting officers. The juveniles that were taken into custody were transported to the curfew center, where parents were contacted. Curfew on Sunday night is 10 p.m. The Shreveport Police Department will be conducting special operations to target the problems caused by large amounts of cruisers.
