Six people arrested for burglary
Shreveport detectives have arrested six people on burglary charges, including four members of a Shreveport family. The three adults and three juveniles are charged with several counts of burglary, aggravated burglary and illegal possession of stolen things.
The investigation, which was completed today, began Sunday when patrol officers noticed a juvenile pushing a motorcycle that had been stolen in the recent burglary of several businesses in the 4600 block of North Market Street.
Property crimes detectives were notified and searches took place of two apartments. Detectives located thousands of dollars worth of merchandise that had been stolen from the businesses. Items recovered included guns, go-carts, mini-bikes, motorized riding toys, video games, clothes, perfume and miscellaneous other items.
At one apartment, the adult female who was there claimed the stolen items belonged to her. After learning that she was lying, detectives went back to her apartment, arrested her and another person and recovered more stolen property.
After identifying the items as stolen, detectives tracked down owners and notified them that their stolen property had been recovered.
When all was said and done, detectives had six people in custody. They included two 14-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy, who are all charged with three counts of burglary and one count of aggravated burglary. Others arrested were:
* Travion Kennedy, 18, of Shreveport; charged with three counts of burglary and one count of aggravated burglary.
* Brione Russell, 17, of Shreveport; charged with three counts of burglary and one count of aggravated burglary.
* Vicki Douglas, 35, of Shreveport; charged with three counts of felony illegal possession of stolen things and obstruction of justice.
